Labels on appliances typically identify the wattage and or amperage of the appliance, so this is the second piece of information. Anyway if you take a voltage measurement in a regular circuit you will normally get a reading somewhere in between and volts. Now I know what to call it, what to look for when making reservations, and what the other outlets on that box are for! The post by Jim is a very good option.

As to the testing in the manufacturing process, you are absolutely correct about the random sample testing. For the purposes of this discussion it will not be necessary to get into a bunch of formulas. But I can't complain too much, we could have been in the northeastern states.

- Remember for safety never adapt to a higher amperage with out an added circuit protector at the lower amperage.
- Simple amp probe over the wiring.
- Of course you're only going to run one air conditioner circuit at a time.
- Don't burn your rig to save a few bucks!
- That is what I have read Stanley.
- Still trying to learn wattages and volts.

Even in a stick house the V is only used for a dryer, electric range, and maybe in the garage. As a career electrical worker, best time to try online I must have missed something in my education. Thank you everyone for your input.
Tildee, That will depend on how his amp is wired. Probably need a new panel. Reply to this topic Start new topic. Almost burnt down the house! Display as a link instead.
Smaller circuits with amp gauge and variable resistance load. Just because the pitcher holds far more water than the glass, that doesn't mean that you will spill water everywhere. Before we get immersed in the topic, con ex I think it is important to review some very basic electrical formulas.
As long as get you from each leg to neutral you are good to go. You will notice there are several different circuits, identified by the individual circuit breakers. Personally, I would also be looking for a different electrician.
Figured if what we had didn't work, we'd survive without electric for a weekend. No one likes my response but you need to completely understand the differences. This stuff is trickier than it looks. If you go over that you would trip the shoreline breaker. The replies have helped me too!
They hook up both legs of instead of switching top leg to neutral. Each time that you open a modern circuit breaker under load, the trip point will drop a small amount. Be absolutely certain which of these you want to get involved with.
Marlan, I agree with each reading on each meter as shown in your diagram. Maybe I just need to make sure I don't have multiple things running at once. Hard time finding monthly spots. Those are completely independent of whatever I happen to connect my shore power cord to. Obviously the ac's are on separate circuits.

Bill, You are full-timing. Is this correct or am I jumping ahead of the gun? What I do recommend is shut off a circuit breaker on occasion just to make sure it shuts off the power. We later bought that adapter and never needed it again! We had a list of our appliances and what amount of power they used so we could see what we could have on at any one time.
- Most of us have a rudimentary understanding of voltage.
- As for circuit breakers failing if that happens a nearly unlimited supply could easily burn down any building.
- While there we plugged and unplugged things as needed.
- Our electrician is also questioning it.
Amps is an instantaneous value. Whichever way you need to go it is a good idea to carry an adapter. There are no stupid questions.

Read it, examine the pictures, if you don't understand it completely, hire an electrician and have them do the work.
